Declid, all Deere's wet brakes groan, but I think I have seen less than 5 Gators in my lifetime that needed new brakes. These were severe duty units and had been subject to lots of abuse. Thing to do is ride around your driveway pulling up on the emergency brake for a short period at a time and "scrub" the pads on the brake surface. It may take awhile but you will get the groan out of it. When you get it groanless, drain the fluid and replace it with Deere J20C fluid. Deere's is the best, but you can use other brands making sure it conforms to J20C specs. This change will help, but the groan will come back sooner or later. Nature of the beast. I think the fluid gets contaminated very easily, possibly condensation or ??? ....
