I had a strange occurance with my 3-pt. I had the tiller mounted and when I had it raised, it would pulse - movinghigher each time until it hit the top. It continued to pulse. I shut the tactor off and the tiller slowly lowered to the ground - when it should have stayed raised. When I used the tractor later in the day, the problem seemed to have gone away. Does anyone have a clue as tot he cause? Thanks

The tractor is a 4300 and has about 50 hours on it as of this last weekend. No maintenance has been performed as yet although it is time for an oil change. The hydraulic fluid was low about 3 quarts [I noticed last week] and I refilled it prior to noticing the problem. I also had [have?] a leaky connection on the loader hydraulics that I tightened a bit - not sure if it sealed up or not as yet. The coupling connecting the hose to the hard tube was loose. Could I have gotten some air in the system that migrated to the rear hydraulics?I appreciate any help. ....

Doug: You don't mention what position the loader was in, or if even attached, at the time it was 3 qts. low. If it was partially raised, or even just the bucket rotated, you are using hydraulic fluid, therefore changing levels. Hyd. fluid should be at "full" mark with loader attached, and in a low travel position, but NOT below "low" mark with loader detached from tractor, if you ever do so. Assuming all this was OK, & IMHO, probably just a Hyd. valve working in, it has happened to me before, let the dealer know, just in case. Best of luck. ....

Hi,I had the same problem with my 4300. As it turned out, there was a transmission o-ring leaking. It was located under the seat, where the rate of drop for the three point hitch mounts to the transmission. Lou ....
