I've been a really well behaved patient... or a gigantic pain in the arse who finally nagged, bitched and complained enough I got my way...LOL.
Today is a red letter day in my recovery, wait, make that an Orange letter day... Both my Doctor and my good lady ("She" who sometimes says no...) both finally agreed I need something to do with my spare time now that both the weather & I are getting well enough to spend some time outdoors. YAHOOOO !!!!
Some terms & conditions apply however, 1) I was told that any machine I get MUST be equipped with HST, the Doc feels the HST will act as a safety, if I'm not well and release the pedal the machine will stop, I don't agree, but that's normal. 2) It must be equipped with a cab, heat & A/C, at this point breathing, comfort, etc, is still a medical requirement, no arguement here. 3) It must be equipped with a cell phone (an easy one), and a two-way radio (we have an existing system, so another easy one) so "She" can talk to me & satisfy herself I am feeling well, etc. (no USE argueing here, LOL), and finally 4) It must be equipped with a loader & remotes so that IT can do the work instead of me.
So, not wanting to waste any (play) time, "She" & I took a drive out to the dealers on the way home from the doctors office. I got a new Kubota L4310 HSTC with the factory loader & industrial lugs.
Delivery time and weather pending (we're getting another 6" of snow here tonight) I should have my new wheels in the garage by Thursday at the latest.
Vroom, vroom......
Hey, wait a minute, this means I have a REASON to be in the Toy Box, errr, I mean Shop, now.... hehehehe

I need the name of your doctor. Next I need to have some sympathy symptoms so I can justifty to my Finiance and Accounting Officer the need for a new toy like yours only GREEN.
Murf glad to hear you are still on the green side of the grass and can now go out and enjoy it some.

It is always nicer to be above the tractor that's working the soil, than below...that being said, keep getting better!
As I read your posting, I was thinking the L4310, and then you said it - nice machine. Enjoy it.

Hope you like it, but you'd almost certainly have wished for a different excuse. Hope all remains well.
As soon as we get open water in the bush, my preferred outdoor activity will be harassing trout. The season here is open Jan - Sept. I've got a new fancy reel that's going to solve all my left-handed/learned right-handed problems with open-faced reels. Something like that might be enough to distract you from your tractor just a little. My problem is that my Outdoor Card expired so I've got no picture of myself to prove to the fish that I'm a person who is authorized to welcome them aboard or ashore.

OK guys, the newest family arrived yesterday afternoon, unfortunately, it arrived just before a Doctor's appointmant, so I didn't have any seat time until last evening.
First reaction, WOW, this chair moves, a new sensation after so long...
Seriously, the new cab is awesome, VERY quiet, especially considering that it is almost all glass. The blower puts out incredible amounts of air, fog doesn't stand a chance, and again, the word is 'quiet'. The A/C was hard to test when it was only a couple degrees above freezing,but if the volume of air is any indication of overall cooling, it should be great. The back and both rear side/corner windows open, the side windows just angle outwards like on a mini-van, the rear window opens awning style, almost to the point of horizontal. All three rear windows are equipped with electric defogger strips, and the back window has a wiper & washer, nice touch for snow season. The lighting is good with plenty of light in addition to the standard you get with an open station machine. The front & rear work lights are mounted as high as possible, although they are fixed as to side to side motion, they are up/down adjustable by hand, and they are switched seperately. There is also two (big) factory outside rear-view mirrors (about time).
The stereo is a really nice touch, I could get used to this, especially since the cab kills most of the outside noise, Tom, you would be in heaven.
It's been a long time since I owned an HST tractor, it will take a little getting used to but the response is very quick and smooth. I think it's more that I am just so used to the response and feel of the GST, but time will tell.
This is the first machine I have gotten in a long time with a factory loader (LA682 in this case) and it feels (& looks) lighter than the aftermarket units (Allied by Buhler, in our case) that we normally run, but then again we usually over spec. them so it's apples to oranges, again time will tell. While I did not un-mount the loader, it looks to be a VERY simple, easy & straight-forward operation to accomplish.
The new style telescopic lower arms on the 3PTH look like they have been well thought out, and should be easy to use, there is LOTS of travel, both in & out from the 'normal' operating position, my back will love it, goodbye pry bar.... As an added benefit, the telescopic arms can be operated in any position to accomodate different drive shaft or hitch lengths.
More (and pics) as play time permits, but overall, I'm very impressed.
