I have found a 2001 Kubota L4610HST with 250 hours of rental service on it. It looks to be in pretty good shape, i.e, it hasn't been obviously brutalized. It has an LA852 loader and is equipped with R4 tires. Approximately 6 months left on warranty. Seller and renter of this machine is a Kubota Dealer. Are there any "hard" questions I should be asking? Any known problems with this model? Asking price is $20,000. Does price seem reasonable?

www.machinerylink.com shows this to be around the high end.
Is the dealer offering any type of warranty? Think it should have at least a one year warranty.
Just remember that rentals are subject to allsorts of abuse that a normal owner would not subject his tractor to. ....

Thanks for the input on machinerylink.com. I see that premium condition brings $20,352. Isn't that for basic tractor without a loader? As a new loader lists for approx $4,000, that would bring price below low end. Is this a reasonable assumption? ....

Yes the deal seem reasonable. You should check what type of lease the tractor was on whether it was rented to anyone and everyone or whether it was least to a single customer. The dealer locally here has machines on a least to hunt clubs etc for the year and then returned. He sells these at a good discount. ....

I believe this tractor was rented by the day so probably lots of users. These machines don't seem all that complex from an an operator's standpoint. I know people can get creatively abusive without much effort but what kind of damage can you imagine being done that might not be obvious? I was hoping this machine would be rugged enough to withstand most anything that a person could throw at it. Is that not the case? ....
