Have a question for anyone in the know. I have 5 acres to mow, and would still like the ability to move some rocks,spread mulch,move some firewood,not really dig anything. I like the wide stance of the kubota f-series 4 wd and some attachments it has but it lacks a front bucket to carry anything. Has anyone ever tried to attach a slip scoop like bucket to the front of the f-series kubota or know what the f-series hydraulics will pick up? Not picking anything up really heavy 900 lbs or less. Should i be looking at the f-series at all or should i be looking at a regular kubota tractor, want at least 72" deck to mow fast.
Money really not a factor, just replacing a steiner with a lot of attachments 28hp diesel about $18,000 in that thing.

You won't pick up anything near 900 pounds with an F series 'Bota.
Nobody that I know of makes a loader of scoop for one for that very reason.
You can however haul a decent-sized trailer with one. As long as you have a way to load the trailer, and don't mind manual labour or dumping action for unloading it, it works fine, I've seen several setup this way.

Thanks murf....i was just thinking about the f series because it already picks up 400 or so lbs for the front deck anyway. Just wondered what the max load it would pick up...say....the deck plus 10 lbs or the deck plus 200 lbs?
I can have the slip scoop made to fit the front of the unit,just had no idea of what it could possibly do. Looks like i may have to look at a kubota tractor tractor. ....

The problem is not the lift capacity, there's enough there to pick a bit of a load, the problem is the arms are not designed to CARRY a load, the are not braced for it, and the hydraulics are not in the right geometry for it either.
In fact, I seem to remember something in the owner's manual in the form of a caution not to even travel with the deck in the air unless necessary, and then only for as brief a period as necessary. This may have more to do with counter-balance issues too though. I do know with the deck in the air, hitting a bit of a bump or stomping on the brakes will get the back end pretty light pretty fast.

There was a company that was building them for that type tractor that actually dumped but your estimated load capacity is way to much for that tractor axle to carry. To say that there dump box would weigh 125 lbs and by moving the load closer to the tractor I'd say 500 lbs of load would be max.
I'd say to look at the B-3030 with a 72" deck. You would be a little slower mowing but all your bases could be covered. ....

thanks art and murf...Was really just wondering on the F series. All the other tractors have so many more implements that the F-series seem to be able to use without much problem but are not made for it, like the snowblower it can use but not the tiller working in reverse...Will check out B-series tractors with 72inch deck, both neighbors have kubota's(bx2350 60inch deck only and other has a b-something turf special)
The bx looks too small and takes him forever to mow and the turf special bigger but still only has 60" deck. Will check out B7800,b2630 or b3030 since all will take the drive over 72" deck.Will be using turf only tires and front loader. thanks again ....

Don't know if you have grades on your lawn but the middle range is where you will find a good speed that the smaller one's you mentioned can't mow at and more like the F-series. With loader work the middle range will also be your favorite with no range changes needed to cover some distances in a short period of time. ....
