I have 5 acres of which I mow 3 acres. I am contemplating buying a B3030 with 60" mmm. I currently use a Deere 445 with 54" suspended deck. My concern'question is mowing with the B3030 and its ground traveling heavy deck.. I do mow when the lawn is wet (some areas with standing water at times)and I am not sure how this Kubota deck will do in wet conditions.. The Deer weighs abot 900# without deck..
Anybody comment on Kubota mowing abilities, with non-suspended deck?
Thanks in advance..
Dan

Hi,
I have the same deck on a Kubota B7610 and mow about 3 acres, my tractor is about 1400 pounds plus 200-300 for the ground engaging deck. I find the deck does better than my old Wheel Horse garden tractor used to do by a wide margin.
That said I only mow when things are dry, you have to be much more careful when turning around with the Kubota with turf tires even more careful if you have industrial tires.
I usually mow with the side deflector tied up to disperse the clippings better, otherwise the deflector is so low that it forces windrows if your grass is thick and tall. One thing I found was if I left the deflector down and got the windrows, the cut grass was prone to get stuck in the front gauge wheels, and when you are new at it you may not notice it. What happens is the wheels get stuck and don't roll, so you start gouging out spots in your lawn. This is only and issue when you are new to the deck.
I would not recommend mowing in any wet conditions, I had to do that with the old Wheel Horse because it could only handle so much at a time. Not so with the Kubota, you can wait until the conditions are right not worry about grass height and it will just sail thru it. Great Machine!! ....

The BX would give you a suspended deck, still 60" and the same manuverability that you have with the 445. ....

Art brings up a good point, you can definitely go smaller than a B3030. Look at the B7510 and B7610 as alternates to the BX if you plan on going into any rough areas with a loader. The extra ground clearance makes it easier to attach implements and your ground clearance quickly gets used up in loader and scraping activities making a BX a little less useful. ....
