While mowing fairly tall grass (7”), up hill (33% grade or better), with my JD 2210, I seem to loose considerable power. Almost to the point that I wasn’t sure I was going to make it up the hill without disengaging the PTO. Is this normal? Any suggestions or tips? I'm wondering if the 62" MMM is too much mower for my application, maybe the 54" would have left a little horsepower in reserve.

Scotter, you only have to cut 60" wide the first path. Try cutting only 50" or 48" if needed after. You might want to check your air cleaner to make sure it is unabstrucked. ....

With the overlap in each pass, I was probably am only cutting 50”-54”. The screens were just starting to cake-up with grass (as they seem to do with the 2210s). But, up ’til now I’ve always seemed to have plenty of horsepower. To date, I only have about 20 hours on the unit. I’ve yet to flip the mower deck over (to dark last night), but I suppose it could be caked-up with grass and the blades dragging? ....

That will cut your horsepower drastically. Nite's and early mornings will give you alot of dew which will give you problems. ....
