I have a JD 950 and want to buy a multi-boom sprayer for research purposes. The sprayer will weigh in at 750 lbs. Will the 3 point on my 27hp 950 be able to carry it around without any trouble?

I don't have the specs for the 950 in front of me, but my recollection is that the lift capacity is probably double the 750 for the sprayer.
If it helps, I have two much smaller tractors, a Deere 4100 (for sale) and a Kubota BX22. Both can easily lift and operate with a 750# load on the back. ....

Well dang, tractortips doesn't list 3ph capacity for 950's. I'd ask a dealer. A bunch of things other than tractor weight affect the rated hitch capacity, such as wheel base, centre of gravity and manufacturer liability concerns. However, my 1710 is about a 2,500 lbs. tractor and has almost a 1,800 lbs. rating. You should be aware that capacity definitions usually are defined as 2' behind the lower link pins. A sprayer may carry its weight further back and so the rating would be reduced. ....
