Seeking your recommendations for a JD utility tractor--with cab--that would be appropriate for moving snow with a blade.
What size blade, as well.
I will be clearing a one-lane track that is about 1/4-mile long.
Thinking in terms of new or near-new (EXCELLENT condition) tractor with cab.
This is for use in SW Montana. 6,000 feet alt.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Tires? 4WD, for sure.
Thanks!

What other duties might the tractor have? You don't mention whether you want front blade or rear, but with 1/4 mile drive, rear blade might get pretty tiresome. Personally, I would lean toward a 5M series tractor. Pushing snow does not require a lot of horsepower, but good traction. I would say a 5065M or 5075M with front loader and a 7 or 8 foot blade mounted on the loader. That way if snow piles up too much to push, you can switch to a bucket and pile it higher. Recommend R1 tires also with filled tires and/or cast wheel weights. Could also add a rear lade so you can push in either direction. If you prefer a hydrostatic transmission a 4xxx series would do the job but I would prefer the extra weight of the 5xxx series, especially if you have hills in your driveway. ....

MontanaBilly, A JD 4500 series 39-45hp w/snow blower unit would be best suited for that area that can get multiple layers of snow. Problem I have with plowing, after the first plow it leaves a pile right at the edge of that that you have cleaned and you just about need a loader to pile second and third snow falls at the same time losing more and more of desired clean real estate. Blower will lift and scatter over many feet out from your cleaned real estate. That's just my take on it. Marry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!!! ....

Second the blower with a nice warm Cab it is a no brainer and takes the traction issue out of the equation, and at 6000 feet you will be getting powder only I assume. ....

Thanks for your reply! Actually we get as much wet snow as powder. We have a foot on the ground right now and it is heavy. Still snowing and what is coming down is pretty dry.
A Merry and Blessed (white) Christmas to all.
Thank you for your suggestions. ....
