I'm looking at a JD 955 w/new paint, loader, backhoe (both factory), 12" and 30" buckets, 60" finish mower and tiller, boxblade, ind. tires, and extra rear turf tires. Tractor has 1300 hrs, tires about 60%. Priced at $14,900. What do ya'll think?

Seems like a lot of equipment for the money, but (I don't know, just asking), assuming a lot of the hours were on the hoe (else why would you have such a costly attachment), which doesn't wear rubber much, would those commercial tires have worn almost half-way in the hours stated? ....

An early one could be near twenty years old but with industrial tires worn that much and new paint I'd ask lots of questions beofre I jumped. I think they have the same engine as my 4310, if it came from a good home 1300 hours is a long way from worn out. I think they have a dry clutch, check the wear if you can. Auerbach is right, in todays prices that is a lot of equipment for the money. Go easy. Frank. ....
