I'm peeved every time I buy something at Best Buy. It seems I never pay the same price at the checkout that is quoted on the card in front of the item. I think they "misplace" items in a less expensive slot on purpose.
But that's nothing. Read below what happened to this guy.

I'm not one to bring suit for nothing, but this looks like a lawsuit payday to me. Excellent story. ....

The last time I shopped at Best Buy, I bought a Sony Vaio Laptop computer a couple of years ago for about $2,500.00. They hounded me for almost an hour as they processed my purchase to buy it same as cash for one year. I finally gave in. As part of the deal, I had to sign up for a free internet membership that I didn't want. Was told their policy was that they had to do this. Told them 50 times that I didn't want it. They said I could call the internet service the next day and cancel it. They kept hitting me up for purchasing the extra warranty. Must have been a dozen clerks that walked past during this time and told me I had to have the service plan. Ended up buying the warranty so I could get out of there. By then I was so angry, didn't even want the computer anymore. Didn't think anyone else locally carried the product, since it was a special model at the time with 16" screen. Found out later Circuit City had them.
Called the internet service the following day to cancel and couldn't get through and had to call for several days.
The following day I went back and cancelled the extended warranty. This took another hour and about another dozen people told me how important it was to buy this. By now, I was screaming about as loud as I could and the security people were coming.
At payment 10 of 12, my wife made one payment close to the payment date. I think they intentially didn't receive payment on time so they could charge us interest. On payment 11 was a $25.00 interest charge. I called and they said we missed the cutoff date. HaHa! I paid the $25.00. Payment 12 comes with another $25.00 interest charge. I call again and they said this charge was necessary since we missed one payment. I paid it in full + the $25.00. Month 13, I get a bill for $400.00 interest.
When I called them this time, I was hot enough that they called security at the location where this was purchased and was trying to say that I threated them. After about 15 minutes of me screaming on the phone they let me talk to a supervisor and then I talked to that person's supervisor. They finally closed out the account and forgot the $400.00 interest charge. Told them not to worry, wouldn't ever come back.
I got a gift card for a Christmas present this year. I finally went back and bought an item. Think I'll go back next week and return it for Cash and then buy it some place else!
Best Buy Sucks!! ....

Yooper, I'm still hot over my computer purchase almost 2 years ago from Best Buy. The ordeal wasn't as bad as yours but it was an ordeal. The one thing I remember is that they wanted to charge me $50 "so that my computer will run optimally." What they would have done was run "msconfig" and removed a bunch of the startup programs.
What p*&ses me off is that I still look in the Sunday flyers and stupidly think I can just run down there and buy something quickly without a hassle. NO CAN DO!

Best Buy is currently under investigation by the State Attorney General of Ohio: Allegations of not honoring promotional advertisements and not paying out mail in rebates, the list goes on. The BBB of Ohio removed them from their list of trustworthy businesses to deal with. ....
