1965 Ford 3000 Diesel Tractor was running great then cut off and will not restart. Turn key and sounds like no compression. Removed hoods and disconnected injectors to run a compression test. Removed valve cover and # 2 cylinder exhaust push rod is bent and has excessive clearance (1/4") Is this a tappet or Camshaft issue? Is it common for push rods to bend? #1 cylinder Push rods seem to have a slight bend

Lots of potential issues given the age and not knowing the maintenance history. If a recent valve adjustment was just done it was a bit off. If everything had been running smoothly perhaps the valve adjustment changed from wear or looseness. Or the rings are worn causing a violent untimely explosion resulting in the bend. Good luck. ....
