I am looking for a BX2230 with FEL, 60MMM and rear catcher, the best quote I have been able to get so far is $14,000 and the dealer will throw in a set of real wheel weights and a grill guard. It sounds good to me but I wanted to see if anyone has something better. I live in Central Pa?

Last weekend I went into a dealer that sells New Holland looking for rear attachments and all though I did not say I had a Kubota he started telling me about the poor water cooling system Kubota and that his uses a real waterpump and Kubota BX's don't..... Does the Kubota's run hot like he said and does it matter?

Stu,

You might try woods implements for a FEL, because they show one on the front webpage and it looks identical to the Kubota model; point is, you might see what difference may be there in terms of price. ....

Stu, years ago Kubota used a simple system to cool there engine much like most manufacturers did. It was a bit of trouble to get heat into the cabs with those tractors and we normally added a circulating pump from motor homes to get the water up to the cab. Did Kubota ever have overheating problems? No, other then from plugged air screens which every manufacturer has. The new tractors have a pump just like everyone else and in the past 15 years since they changed from the syphon system we have not had to add the pumps with cab installations. We sell both the Kubota and NH and with either manufacturer if there are problems with aftermarket manufacturers attachments ie: loader or backhoe attachments it can get sticky for your dealer to get things warranteed by the tractor manufacturer. ....

Stu: Try some of the discount farm supply stores. In my area we have Fleet-Farm and Tractor Supply (TSC) who handle things like King Kutter. They (KK) make a line of rear attachments called their XB line made specially for the sub-Compact tractors. Inexpensive and decently built. It is not OEM or Woods, but it works. I have one of their XB box-blades. ....

I have a Woods FEL and BH on my BX2230 and it would nearly impossible for a dealer not to warrant it since the manufacturer would have to prove the aftermarket attachments caused the issue. Theirs a law that covers this but the name eludes me right now. I'll look it up.

Bagger works great. I use it for grass and leaves, never a problem. If you set the deck low and rev the motor up, you can darn near suck the sod out of the ground. lol

One down side is the installation of the unit. This can be a real bear. I was forwarded some instructions and I incorporated them into my website. Link below. Every unit seems to be a bit different, so you will need to experiment with it a little. ....
