Henry..What is your geographic location? That sure was a heck of a price for that combo. I wonder if it's worth trying to find a buy no matter where and then have it shipped? ....

Hi Glen:

I'm in Southwestern Ontario and recently shopped for a new tractor. During that search I was quoted $15398 Cdn for a 790 with R1 tires / DSCV and $3527 Cdn for the model 70 loader. Another dealer nearby had prices slightly higher, but not significantly so. I ended up with a 4300 HST and 420 loader, but would not discourage anyone else from buying the 790.

Jeff ....

Glen, when I was looking less than a year ago a 790 with MFWD, SCV, and Trurf tires was between $16000 and $16500 Cdn ($10660 US).
Jeff, were you quoted a price for a 790 with the MFWD option? ....

Kevin:

Yes! That price was for the 790 with mfwd, R1 and DSCV. It did not include a mid-PTO. As I said, both dealerships that I deal with gave me comparable prices in that range. Maybe John Deere has raised their MSRP on the 790 since then. Those prices were quoted during a program John Deere had in Canada that ended at the end of last Oct. Good hunting. ....

Hi I just bought a new john deere 790 4 wd with a 70 loader with 60 " bucket and a # 7 backhoe . I paid $18,000 for it delivered with these options, but I also purchased the R4 tires and canopy but they were extra. the dealer I bought it from was a john deere industrial dealer and he was $5600.00 cheaper than the john deere agruculture dealer for the same tractor with the same exact options he was also less on the tires and canopy by $200.I live in Maryland and don,t know were your closest J. D. Industerial dealer would be ?

Jim, sounds like you got a great deal. I paid around 15K for my 790 4X4 with R1s, 70 loader and 513 cutter. I'm interested in the 7 backhoe sometime in the future. Please post your experiences with it when you get a chance. Congratulations on your new machine!

Just ordered a new JD 790 4x4, 70 loader w/60" bucket, R1 ag tires and mid PTO,
here in MI for $14,405. I'm having them add a block heater for $65 when it gets here. I've heard all the comments about the glow plugs being all that's needed, however my Mom's Kubota wouldn't start for the first time,(even w/glow plugs) when the temps stayed in the single digits. I had to buy a magnetic block heater, which worked like a charm when attached to the oil pan, for an hour before starting. I feel a block heater is cheap insurance that your tractor will start in severe cold weather.

Hey PLK, where in Michigan? What dealer. I got the very same 790 at Walkers in Union last fall. I also got a 513 cutter and the total came to $15K. I don't have a block heater, but I'm not using it much in extremely cold weather. I have a snowblower on my Craftsman that handles most of my snow duty. Good luck with your 790, you'll love it. Dealer is Nolans, north of Lapeer (east of Flint). I already have a brush hog, but still looking at rear blades. Hoping I can choose one that won't bend or break, the first time I hook a rock or root! ....
