I have a new 2004 kioti ck20 hj with 13 hours on it. Also has kl120 loader, and kb2365 hoe, also canapy, also post hole driller .
I have to sell because the owner is sick.
will be putting on ebay soon for about $15,000.
I also have the ridgeline trailer dual wheels for $2,000.

FATHER-IN-LAW JUST RAN MY BX2200 UNTIL IT STARTED "SMOKING." MY FAULT FOR NOT CHECKING COOLANT. ADDED COOLANT (IT WAS BONE DRY)- ENGINE STARTS BUT HEATS UP IMMEDIATELY. AM WAITING FOR DEALER TO PICK UP FOR SERVICE.ANYONE CARETO SPECULATE ABOUT THE POSSIBLE DAMAGE. AM HOPING IT IS JUST THERMOSTAT -- THOUGH THAT MAY BE BAD ENOUGH.

I'm looking at a 4310 kubota with the GST trans and Loader. Wanted to pick brains out there as to what to look for when inspecting the used ones and what a fair price would be?<br>

I've played with both ways on my 790 and I think it has to do with the surface you're on. If it's already pretty flat then the locked position will work well. If it's pretty uneven the box will follow the tractors contorsions and may dig in/gouge the surface excessively. In those conditions I've had good luck with the float position. I also replace the cotter pins with hitch pins to make the changeover easier. Hope this helps, Rob.

Matthew, one word of warning on the anti-freeze. I use the non-toxic stuff in our RV water system, for obvious reasons. I spilled a bit one year and it killed the grass very quickly. Took quite a while for it to recover. If you spring a leak in your tire you could have a funny looking trail of dead grass.

It sounds like your dealer quoted you a 990. It's the big brother to the 790 and does take the 430 loader. Price sounds about right too. Nice tractor if that's what you want, though you might want to consider a different salesperson/dealer.

Larry, if it's the horizontal brackets that bolt to the tractor frame, there should be no play at all. If it's the vertical loader masts there may be a little movement. There are shims that should be adjusted to minimize this movement. I just did it on mine and it's pretty simple. Lower the bucket and raise the front tires a bit. Disengage the loader quick release handles on each side. raise the bucket slowly until there is about 1" of clearance to the mount at the front (loader frame will drop about 1"). Then loosen the shim bolts (two on each side) and tap the shims down until they are snug. Retighten the bolts and reattach the loader. It's all covered in the loader operators manual if you got one. The reason I ask is, I'm currently looking for a tractor. New or late model and I ran across your post. Price ? I haven't the foggiest. I'm green to tractor stuff and from what I've seen so far it's nuts. I've seen used ones sell for more than new ones of identical models. I guess it's a seller's market out there. Good luck in what ever you decide............

Randy, I finally remembered to look at my 790 last night. I found the holes you mentioned. Each of mine has a light coat of oily dirt around the hole indicating some presence of oil, but no actual leakage. It appears to be a vent hole as someone else mentioned. If there is leakage I'd suspect a seal within the axle housing. Hope this helps, Rob

Cutter, the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee use essentially the same mechanicals in the drivetrains. Grand may offer a higher level "quadra-track" or whatever they call it. They differ mainly in style and creature comforts. Cherokee is a design going back to '85 or so and Grand has only been around since the early/mid '90s. Cherokee was supposed to have gone away when Grand came, but sales remained high. The design bucks have gone into Grand and Cherokee will be replaced any day now by the "Liberty". "Liberty" (KJ) is more like a stretched Wrangler with four doors. My wife and I really like it. Oh yeah, no manual tranny in Grand. We owned an '95 Cherokee and would have bought a Grand but wanted a stick. The Cherokee was a blast but two kids have steered us temporarily into a minivan. Not a single minivan available in the US with a stick. Can't wait for the kids to get a little bigger so we can get back into a "real" vehicle!

Hey PLK, where in Michigan? What dealer. I got the very same 790 at Walkers in Union last fall. I also got a 513 cutter and the total came to $15K. I don't have a block heater, but I'm not using it much in extremely cold weather. I have a snowblower on my Craftsman that handles most of my snow duty. Good luck with your 790, you'll love it. Rob

Al, check with an RV dealer for trailer shocks. Most towable campers don't have them but they are a semi-popular add on for improved ride and handling. Hope this helps, Rob.

I've not heard of ARPS but the price seems a bit high... unless it's a really heavy, top line model like Land Pride etc. I almost bought a brand new King Kutter (not top line) 6' rake last fall at Quality Farm for $319 on sale. If you have a Quality Farm or TSC nearby, take a look at the models they sell and compare material thicknesses and overall weight. Heavy is usually better.

I got my 790 this past fall after quite a bit of research. It seemed to offer the best bang for the buck and I haven't been dissappointed one bit. I was concerned about lift capacity but it works fine with my 5' cutter and a friends 7 1/2' disc. The disc is a lot heavier than my cutter. I like the 790 ergonomics better than other "economy" tractors I looked at. Hope this helps, Rob

My experience with RV anti-freeze (in and around our RV) is that while non-toxic to humans, it will kill the grass if spilled. Might make for some interesting patterns in your yard if you spring a leak.

Here's how I set mine up (based on the dealer and the manual): Loosen up the top link (my cutter has an extra link in the top link connection to allow for some float). Set the cutter height with the lower arms and tail wheel. Set the top link loose to allow some additional downward tilt. I did this for cutting my very bumpy field and it worked fine. The cutter and tractor could pitch a bit relative to each other as we went over dips and high spots. I did lift it for tight turns then set it down again as I straightened out. I'm sure the same scheme will work when I get the field smoothed out and planted again. I do tighten the top link when I transport for some additional clearance. Hope this helps, Rob.
