I have a 2010 GLK350, which I absolutely love. However, the weatherstriping on both front doors has prematurely failed, near the seat bolsters. I can't believe that the slight rubbing when entering or leaving the vehicle should be sufficient to cause this. The driver's side has already been replaced once (under warranty), and now the passenger side is failing (flaking black particles).
Has any GLK350 owner experienced this problem? At my next service I plan on requesting a warranty replacement for the passenger side. However, after only a year the driver's side is already showing signs of wear, indicating to me that back then M-B had not made any material changes to the weatherstriping to address this. Note the seats show no signs of any wear whatsoever.
The dealer previoulsy has stated there are no service bulletins on this. Have any other GLK350 owners experienced this problem?

It's such a simple and obvious item to re-adhere or replace that I'd say neither you nor your dealer should be overly concerned as to whether it's a unique or a common problem. ....
