I have a TC25D and would like to install a rear hydraulic hook-up for a backhoe. Is this fairly easy task or should I let the dealership handle it.

Art, the tractor is a TC25D. Searching around the net, the only thing I've run across is the AERA-VATOR, which is PTO driven and looks a little elaborate.

Is 17K a good deal on a NH TC 40 (I have not found this model on the www site, nor have I found it on jplan, ideas?), non-hydrostat, Supersteer, Indust. tires, 200 HRs with bucket?

Cutter, your owners manual should recommend changing pretty much everything after the first 50hrs. I just performed the 50hr service on my TC25D in october and replaced the engine oil and hydraulic fluid with AMSOIL. I feel it has made a huge difference in the cold Minnesota temps.

Just above the HST filter on my tc25d there is some hydraulic tubing that has some sort of a fabric clamped around it. What's this for? The reason I'm asking is that the fabric is saturated with hydraulic fluid and seems to be leaking a little bit.

From what I've seen, they offer 2 FEL's for the bigger models to better accomodate the supersteer option and the brake pedals are on the opposite side of the hydro pedal for the 35-45's.

I'm looking for something to supplement my rotary tiller. Does anyone know if a roller/leveler attachment is available for tillers to help smooth out the dirt?

I have purchased several King Kutter cat.1 implements and have noticed that some are wider than the others which makes it tough to get the arms out around the pins. However, I was able to find some cat.1 pins at a local farm store that were a little shorter and made it easier to pull the arms out around the pins.

if anyone is interested, I saw a 1999 TC25 with loader and box scraper with 85hours on it on Ebay. The starting bid is at 12,900 for the whole setup. That's a fair amount better than I paid for my TC25D new.

I agree with Al. I have a TC25D with 7308 loader and I couldn't imagine trying to lift 1200lbs with the loader without damaging the tractor. I had some trees delivered to my property last spring that the nursery says weighed around 900lbs with the root-ball. The loader had no problem moving them around but the front end of the tractor was squating quite a bit more than I'd like.

Hans - Thanks for the feedback. I have the standard axle on my tractor. I also noticed that if I hold down the HST pedal with the trans in neutral (I assume this cycles the oil), there is no squealing. I'll try to lubricate that drive shaft better as you indicated and go from there.

I live in Minnesota and after reading other posts concerning tractor operation in cold weather, I have convinced myself to try the synthetics in my tractor. However, I did confirm with my dealer that he does have a full synthetic transmission/hydraulic fluid that he said he gets from New Holland. I think I'll probably end up using the AMSOIL ATH, but I was just curious if anyone had heard of or used the NH synthetic.

Roger, Thanks for the fast reply. I forgot to mention that the unit I am looking at has 1500 hours. Is that a great deal of hours considering the price. Also, a Kabuto friend said that hydrostatic drive is THE WAY to go. What is your opinion? Thanks!

What's a decent price for a 3pt tiller? I've seen the 5' King Kutter for around $1100 and some other name brands for a little more. It's for limited personal use so I don't need anything real bulletproof.
