The only problem I see with the TC18 is the price. That is an awfully high price for such a small tractor. I priced some new tractors back in the spring and all the tractors priced were 4wd, shuttle shift models, with front loaders. You can adjust for a belly mower. <br>JD790 $14,182<br>JD4200 $15,277<br>JD4300 $17,007<br>Cub Cadet 7300 $15,090 with R4's 30hp<br>MF 1250 $17,100 32hp<br>Like I said these are without the belly mower and all prices are before tax. I would shop around some. You already have a tractor so you can afford to wait and find a better deal.

John, For digging the clutch is a must the glide shift is for constant movement of the tractor with out the use of a clutch. The plus of it is you get gear drive efficiency and some of the hydro's convience. The clutch is not weak it is one of the largest in the industry. Art

I have seen the JD 8b backhoes and know the reputation of Woods. I would be very surprised to see any stress cracks on these machines. I think another dealer is giving you a

One more thing, expansion of the oil should not matter. The fittings should seal themselves when they are disconnected, regardless of pressure. Once again, just replace it.

Make sure there is plenty of oil in the transmission! Then try either jacking up the rear of the tractor or,even better, backing up a steep hill. The pump should prime itself. If it is still not picking up the oil, don't keep running the tractor or the pump will sieze up.

I understand your reasoning, but the grey's DO offer a profound value due to lower pricing. I can sell you a 27hp 4wd Yanmar in good to very good condition for $5995...a machine larger than a 750, and a little under an 850...you won't find that in used JD. Hundreds of Yanmar dealers nationwide too who can get you parts. I'm just saying be careful..as one should in any transaction when you are not personally familiar with the equipment. If your green is JD, it is Yanmar.

I have a new TC33D and it doesn't smoke at all. While comparison shopping I tested a variety of Boomer models and don't recall any noticable smoke except possible briefly when starting. I really like this machine, but a new one should not smoke and a responsible dealer should correct this.

My new TC33D was delivered a month ago. With a 60 inch mower (LandPride), 72 inch rear blade (LandPride), and the terriffic New Holland front end loader it was over $19,000 plus Virginia tax). I had to wait about 6 weeks for New Holland to deliver it (ag tires, supersteer, and hydrostatic transmission). So far no smoke or problems of any kind. This model is hard to come by in this area and I doubt you will get any large price breaks. It is hard to project resale value, but I did look at older Ford/NH models as well as Kubota and Deere at most of the dealers in a 75 mile radius and I couldn't detect any consistent differences for comparable models. The newly engineered NH line is really nice and I can recommend it if you have a good dealer. If cost is critical I would pass up the super steer rather than going for less horse power or without the hydrostatic transmission unless you are doing landscape and finish mowing work primarily.

I have a 420 loader with a bucket indicator and has worked properly since I recieved it without having to cut anything off. It sounds like you have the wrong level indicator!

Joe I bought a 950 JD 2 wheel drive new in 1985 to date I've got aprox 2500 hrs on it andI had to put new brakes on it and that is all I have done to it. I work the stuffing out of it all the time. IT don't any oil what a great little tractor. Sorry to hear about your misfortion. I can't imagin what it was used for For mine takes a licking and still keeps a ticking .
