I was given a Sears Lawn and Garden (6 HP Techumsh) Shredder-Bagger. I've rebuilt the carb and it cranks and runs for a second. I don't know much about governor linkage and springs, so photographed and re-installed spring and linkage the same as I found it. Something tells me they are not right. Please take a look at my picture link. I've color coded below and on picture so you can communicate back if something needs to be changed. <br>

I have a 5 or 6 year old gator (gas) that is one of my best pieces of equipment. The one short fall is the unreliable starting. Since day one if we run across the farm at max speed, with headlights on.....when you stopped and shut it off it wouldn't start back up. It's almost as if the alternator isn't charging enough to replentish the battery. It seems a little strange that we have run it for hours starting and stopping, and it's fine. it's those long runs that seem to take more battery than it has. The local JD dealer looked at it (when about 3 weeks old) and shrugged <br>
shoulders. now it has a new battery and it may crank tomorrow and may not. anybody else seen this?

This gator has had one previous electrical problem with the cooling fan not comming on. I tracked back to what I think was the problem...the thermastat. I wired directly to a switch and intend to buy a new one. A few weeks later it didn't crank and I tracked it to the fuelpump not comming on when the switch is on. I +/- directly into the fuel pump which pumps great and makes the gator runs fine.<br>
The yellow and black wires leaving the fuel pump, both come out of the harness (under the dash) each into a gang of yellow and black wires. Now I'm beginning to wonder if the cooling fan problem is really the thermastat or simular to this. Anybody want to take a shot at this?? (before along, I can throw away the key and fire it up with the shortcut switches on the dash!)<br>

Thanks, all. I did some calling around and found a local Carlisle dealer who could order the tires for me. I'll save at least $100 on the set, installed, over what my JD dealer was quoting me! Incredible! Again, thanks everyone for your help on this.

I got a price of $14200 for a JD 4110 with hydro, and FEL. The MMM was expensive and brought the price to $16500, although the dealer 'threw in' a rear weight box. Prices for the 2230 and 'bota tractors was abouth the same. I didn't price MF because my nearest dealer was a hardware store 25 miles away. I probably should have looked at NH.

Do you like the 46 BH? Does the extra seat make the BH cumbersome compared to one whre the seat rotates?
