I'm not pulling a trailer, and even when I'm driving across the lawn with the loader off the tractor, the tires are making some pretty deep indentions in my lawn. If anyone has a 770 or 790 4x4 with turf tires and are looking for a tire that's more aggressive, I'd be interested in swapping my ag tires for a set of turf tires. My tractor only has 370 hours and is a 1998 model so my tires are in good condition and would like some in the same condition or better. If someone would have a new set on rims, I'd be interested in purchasing them also. THANKS!!!

I will try the tarp idea. the tractor is kept in the barn. I have never had this problem before. I will put the tractor in the garage next time the temp gets this cold for so long. Thanks for the help.

Have been shopping for a different mowing platform to update my Simplicity. Was thinking of an older Yanmar or Kubota. My main critera was diesel power, 48" deck and 3pt hitch for using a blade. Blade would be used for light rock grading for driveway. <br>

I have found Kubota G5200 that meets 2 out of the three requirements (no 3pt hitch) but it does have a G2000 48" front mounted blade but not currently mounted due to missing bracket(s) and mounting hardware. Not really a big deal there because my neighbor can fab something together if I can provide a few pictures of what it's supposed to look like. The only down fall I see is that one has to remove the mower deck to use the blade. The Kubota website states there was a 3pt hitch kit available (G9702). Was it a cat 0 or 1? Or was it a proprietary type for use with Kubota implements? What would be the chances of finding one (NOS or used)?<br>

I probably going to buy this tractor anyway because it's really clean original condition, has about 1300 hrs, mower deck is in great shape....and looks like it's built like a tank. I can always resale next year and get my money back if I don't like it...but I don't see that as being the case.I'm just curious about the hitch issue and possibility of getting one.<br>

many thanks - I'll get some pictures and post them - I think you're right - I need to have a good think before I do anything - trouble is I live in rural France and it's well nigh impossible to get workmen so I guess it'll be up to me!

Mike, tractor pricing is very regional. I just purchased a 12LA loader and a 914A MMM for my 1 year old TC24D. I added the loader and deck in June 2004, I paid $3850 for the loader and $2200 for the MMM. I got higher quotes from the internet NH sellers, so I bought from my local guy and he picked up my tractor, insalled everything and brought it back for those prices. Now what I get here in the heart of the Midwest may not be what you get somewhere else. The prices in the Northeast are typically at or even sometimes above "list" prices. The same seems to be true for some parts of the west.

Thanks again for all of the help. I think I'm going to buy the CUT with FEL and box blade, and rent the mini excavator per your advice. That saves me nearly 5 grand on the backhoe attachment that I'll likely never need again. If the excavator is that much fun, I might have the whole yard dug up by Monday. Thanks again -

Personally I think companies should take care of their employees and employees should take care of their companies. Publicly traded companies have a hard time with that because stockholders demand returns for their investments and employees see that as greed. CNH is barely profitable, its parent company lost billions.

I mounted YELLOW fog lamps on my ROPS with marine epoxy. Yellow doesn't attract bugs. Fog lamps throw a W-I-D-E beam so it eliminates shadows. The epoxy has a 5000# pull strength, is 100% waterproof, and from what I can tell, epoxy is tree branch proof too!

The TC29 is a great tractor, but I think you are looking at an elephant gun to shoot rabbits. You will be very pleasantly surprised by the performance of the TC24, it has a compact frame but plenty of power, will turn much tighter, fit into place the TC29 won't go, and will do what you need done just a bit slower than the TC29.

Kubota's B7800 is their bare bones 30hp unit, if you want to make a fair comparision between tractors with similar features, compare the Kubota B2910 to the New Holland TC29DA to the JD 4210. The B7800 compares to the NH TC30 or the JD 790 tractors for price & features (or lack of features).
