Settled on a front snow blade with the purchase. Checked it out the other day, I am pleased with the set up, with that blade mounted at mid-frame, it has a lot of stability, and I am pleased I did NOT go with the quick attach bucket/snow blade set up, it puts the center of gravity out of whack, in my opinion, and I'd be sliding around up front on any kind of grade, and I have a slightly pitched lane..and more severe in some places..I'll learn the loader disconnect, in favor of having that stability. Thanks for the input. it is appreciated. Thanks to ALL who gave me pointers and advice. I was a Farmall Cub nut for twenty some years, so if I can help on that score, give me a shout. Ponyman

Dealer has installed Titan Multi Tracs on the new 2910..and have purchased chains for my snow removal..they say they will not clear the fender..I am sure I saw on here there were spacers available for that problem..cannot find the post, could someone PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS QUICKLY..they are setting up the tractor now..I really need those chains here..inclined driveway, blacktop..(for icy conditions)..can you space or move those rear wheels out enough to make clearance for the tire chains? I sure would appreciate a post sometime today? Thanks!!

I got a front blade..because I have a long, slightly uphill blacktop lane, several hundred feet to the highway, so a back blade and bucket would not do me very well..looking back, or driving over snow to plow it..and going side to side with a bucket..that's too much..The blade will work fine, I am sure. I had the tires loaded with antifreeze.
I will us the FEL for other things, including manure at the barn for the horses. Also am bringing in some shale in the spring to do some grading and so on. I got chains on the rears also for this winter. Thanks.

I have had ponies, they poop too you know..! for 35 years..as a young man I wheelbarrowed it to the garden pile, 150 feet away. I'm 62. No more of that. Snow and all, made a path. Those were the days, buddy..no more however. Just to throw my two cents in, I looked at the mill creeks and all of them, really. And I will share this with you, if you can find a good, old International 100 ground drive spreader, you are in business..trust me, I've restored 3 of them and still have one in use right now. The webs and cross pieces, all of it..are still available. You can get a darned good one, almost like new, for about 900 bucks..I tore mine down, derusted, primed and painted it..use it twice a week. Turns sharp. Good broadcast ability, and hauls more than you think. If you have any questions further I'd be very glad to answer them. You helped me..I'll help you.(It was often called a "Cub" Spreader).

Chief, when you say overlap problem, consideration to make on the 60 inch MMM, does that apply to the 4115? or the 4210 you were also speaking of..thanks. I'd sure like to know who Mark is you mentioned? So maybe I can discuss a 4115 with him more? Thanks again so much. I never made "Chief" I was an E-5, but hey...I never ran "to Canada"...that's for sure..Merry Christmas. Thanks for the input and the time you put into it. Very much. An aside, I never let the pasture "fall over"..I cut it about 8 to 10 inches, down to about 5..less strain on the tractor..it worked with that Cub lo-boy and L59 woods, I would think the 4115 with 60 inch MMM would serve me well? What do you think..

Just an aside, Chief, my sentiments exactly! concerning the golf course lad who was being beaten down with ordinances. I bought 8 acres and built my barn, pasture and was told by the township horses were not allowed..I'm five miles outside a small town! but I fought them and won. But you are very correct, our liberties are fast being erroded every day. They are making zoning laws so restrictive, makes me wonder why I put four long years in for Uncle Sam, back in the early 60's...thanks for helping me out with the post on the JD4210. I'm still confused on which to buy but am narrowing my search.

When I began restoration, about 18 years ago, I thought all decals were the same. That if you ordered "decals" for a Cub, they would be correct. Not so. Most tractor supply companies offer "kits" but they are for the most part, "universal" kits. And, often the lettering and wording is not correct, if you are very particular. I learned that where possible, I was better off ordering decals from a dealership, as mentioned in other posts. I have seen a half dozen different "FARMALL CUB" decals that are stated as correct for a special year tractor. If you check your manuals, and specific information on that model tractor, you will see quickly that your decal "kit" may in fact be just that: A kit. To doll the tractor up, make you feel good about a job completed, when in the end, you really don't want to "smack" an incorrect decal on a newly restored tractor. Reseach it carefully first. That's the best advice I can give you. You can get "decals" at most farm stores, tractor sites, and trade magazines and parts suppliers for that specific tractor.

I am seriously considering a TC299D. I have checked out the Kubota sub-compact carefully, with backhoe and loader, but upon very careful inspection and thought, I realized that it is just that; a sub-compact. It is too small to really get the job done, in my humble opinion. I need to haul manure, mow several acres and I want to use a hoe. I think the ground clearance of the TC29D is far superior, as compared to a mere 6 inches. We are talking 14, as opposed to six..and pricewise? A lot more tractor overall, implements included, for durability, in use, than the BX2300 Kubota..which was quoted to me ~ about 22,000 with a front plow and mower deck. I am impressed with the New Holland machines thus far. Does anyone know? Will a front end loader clean a long, blacktop lane as well as a plow? I'm told it will when y ou get the hang of it, but I am skeptical being from the old school that you use a blade to clear snow..any advice on this? Thanks so much.
