I owned a JD 855 for awhile. Very nice machine. I ran it from about 100 to 500 hours. Loader, backhoe, and rake. The machine never had a problem. Great machine. I would advise maybe letting a mechanic check it out if your nervous. Also, the price you pay should be a consideration for buying without a warranty. I don't know if 9000 is a good deal but the tractor should be fine for your application. It was also cheap to run. Just don't expect it to be a bulldozer and DON"T LEND IT OUT-even to family. My family ended up fighting over it. That's why I sold it. Now I own something big enough where it can't be moved very easy. HA!
