I am looking for some advice on buying a tractor. I mow about 3 acres, I will need to brush hog 1 acre. I maintain about 1/2 mile of dirt road(this includes clearing snow) and we have alot of landscaping to do at this home and our new home. But first and most it must mow grass. We have been looking at Kubota 2410 and 7500 and like most we are under a budget. Is the 7500 going to be enough tractor? Can it handle a brush hog and box scraper? Any advice?

Looking for some price information on Kubota 2410 HSD with R4 tires and LA352 FL Loader. I recieved a price of 16428.00 out the door. Also has any one heard if Kubota will improve on there 6 3/4% rate for a loan?

Another point is the dealer you will be going to! What ever tractor you get make sure the dealer will support you! Service is a big consideration! You only buy once but service is a life time! <br>As for the brush hog if you are only going to us it once or twice consider renting, it is much cheaper!<br>As for rear weight, I like the ballast box, you can remove it for mowing, even a smaller tractor 18 to 24 horse power will weigth in at over 1400lbs it can mess up your lawn!<br>Also don't read to much in to stats, I think all the main tractors are very close to what there will handle!<br>Hope this helps!

One thing I have learned that you get what you pay for in tractors, lawn tractors will wear out much fast than a good garden tractor. JD and Case make a very good garden tractor, my case new is around 6000 but it is built to stand the test of time. My tractor is a 78 and is just now starting to die! With a larger tractor you can get a 3 point hitch to add other attachments. Even a small compact diesel you can put a loader and pto driven attachments to the rear. I think you will find lots to do with your new tractor! Good Luck!

Guy,<br>Have you looked at a Kubota 2710, I think you will see it matches up much better, it is a 27 horse tractor that weighs in around 1700 lbs around 1000 lbs less than a 4200 but with the same capicitys.

Does anyone know when you start a JD 4200-4500 tractor do you need to time the glow plugs before you start or is there a light that will let you know when they are ready? Times should vary depending on the temp.

I plan on buying a green or orange tractor 27 to 39 horse power with a loader. I do know I will need ballast. I don't want to load the tires because the tractor will be used for rear mowing. WIll a Rear blade weighing around 475 lbs be sufficient for good loader work. Should I add weight to the blade or get a heaver blade. A green dealer told me to use a ballast box with around 1000lbs of sand in it, but a rear blade sit's twice the length behind the tractor. A Orange dealer told me a 475lbs blade would be ok to use. Any advice?

I am looking at a new tractor JD 4300 to 4500. I am looking at R4 tires. Are they good tires for turf, dirt work and snow work or wood turf tires work better. I plan on mowing, loader and rear blade work and snow removal.

I am looking to buy a tractor and would like any information or advice on weather to go with JD PowrReverser or Hydro. I plan on using my tractor for Loader work, Mowing, and rear blade work both at home and on some side jobs for pay. Any information on value vs repair cost, how long they will last before repairs, easy of use for jobs I have described. Is it worth the extra cost of Hydro or is powrReverser the way to go. I have been looking at 4500 and 4600. I also looked at 4300 Hydro. Cost is important but I need a good long lasting Transmission that will hold up. Any information would help!
