Thanks Art,

I guess the best way to go is with a Kubota FEL, the tractor is like new, it lives in the barn, and the car gets rusty in the weather. I guess I should have streched for it when I got the tractor. I asked you before about Terry Abbot, have you seen or heard if he is still in the business? Thanks for your thoughts!

I picked up a new L4300 DT for 16,500 no fel though. its an incredible machine I cant say enough good things about it.

17 hours on the L4300 and think its an awsome machine. I'm real happy I went with gears instead of hydro, I was not sure when ordering it, but man does it do what you ask without a grunt. If anyone is in the market check out the L 4300 you wont be sorry!

I cant give you a definitive answer, although I have just spent some time deciding which tires to go with, on an L4300 for my own use, which will mostly be rotary cutting and will involve traveling over and rough cutting some lawn as well as brush. My neibor has a ford 8n with the aggresive r1 ag tires and I took it over some of the land I will be using it on. I found that a slow steady pace was not as damaging as I thought it would be, with that in mind I figured that the R4 industrial would cause even less damage due to the heavier and closer spaced ribs in the tires, and ordered them for my machine. Just my 2cents

thanks for all your help - it sounds crazy but i bought the 4300 sight unseen. i drove the other L series models with the fancy trannies and cupholders but after comparing the numbers figured the 4300 to be better in all areas, and i just like old fashion gears in my slushbox!
