Hi,
I have a new 2210 and have a question on how warm the hydrostatic transmission temperature should be. After the first cut, I noticed that the hydrostatic transmission was rather warm. Is this normal, or is there something going on with my machine. The fluid level is showing full.
Thanks,
Jim

Too hot to touch exposed metal hydraulic fittings is about where my tractors have run on hot days doing heavy work. ....

I’m not sure “how hot?” is “too hot”. But mine gets rather warm, and is too hot to touch. After extensive use (mowing for an hour or two), I will let the engine idle for about 10 minutes or so, to let all of the temps come down slowly. Then, if I’m going to wash it off, I’ll wait another 30 minutes before doing so, so as not to spray cool water on hot components. ....
