I finally got my 2000 tc45d today and ten minutes into getting familiar with it, it stalled and would not start.
I tried everything to get it started and it would not start.
I started pulling on the parking brake release lever and it started. It stalled several times again and the only way it would start was by pulling on that brake release way up. Is there a safety switch or something that would cause this? I would appreciate any help. Not the way to start off with a new purchase.
Thanks

I seem to recall a discussion quite awhile ago that may have been about the same problem. If I remember, an owner replaced a safety switch on some model NH several times and thought the design wasn't adequate. There also may be some ability to adjust the switch.
The discussion might be in the archives but I can't remember if it was even on this board, and I don't have a clue what the subject header might be. Some help eh.

I am not getting off of the tractor, it is quiting while I am trying to drive it. I happened to notice that the only way it would start is if I pull up on the p brake lever. I checked the seat switch last night and it apears to be working properly but it was a little crooked.
Thanks ....

Thanks Bill! I don't know if your memory or your archive searching skills are better than mine.
I think that somewhere there is a longer discussion as well, but this one seems to provide some decent clues about the problem. ....

The rivets and steel checked out okay, so I looked into the seat switch again. I found that the plug end had been changed and there was two of the wires wore through the insulation and some broken strands that were just taped. I
jumped out the switch and put a half an hour on the tractor without any stalling. I think it's fixed, I need to reinstall everything properly now. Thanks for the help.
