It depends on the year and which of several different mods that you choose. Best to call TST or another dealer.My friends was a plug in program type super easy. Computer controlled are the easiest, mechanical pumps are more involved.

Tri-County the last I called was only an agricultural dealer not a compact dealer. Nolans is okay. Greenias was good and I would check Rosseel's in Chesterfield Twp. they usually have a few late model J.D's at good prices. Depends on where you are located.

You did say any brand big or small. I have two Ruger model ninety six's (1) in 22mag. and (1) 17hmr I love both guns. I never really had any desire for a lever, but I have to say they are super fun to shoot and there is something special about the "ca chink" that you just can't explain.

My Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casull is quite intense to shoot but I don't think it is as bad as some people say. I think if you are paying attention follow up shots can be fairly quick. It is fun to shoot 45 colt through it too.
I also have a Glock 23 .40 that I carry a lot. It shoots well and for someone that doesn't have a lot of time to shoot I think it is a great gun. I know Nugent sure likes his 10mm. Glock though. Great thread.

My tc45 is fine and I do mostly loader work on uneven ground
even loppsided work with sides of the bucket. My tractor as almost 1000 hrs. on it.

I have a 2000 tc45 and mine makes more of a clicking sound by the hyd. filter and starter also. My tractor has almost a 1000 hours on it. It comes and goes when I am going down the road. It seems to be somewhat intermittent. I always thought it was the two solid lines but I checked them and it is not that. It has done it since I bought it and the dealer said it was normal.

I am considering buying a back hoe for my tc45 and was wondering what would be a good set up. It will mostly be used for drain tile, digging out small stumps and rocks and
digging out an old barn foundation. thanks for the help guys.

Get as big a tractor as you can afford. It sounds like you have enough property to justify a larger tractor.(jd 4510-4710, n.h. tc40-tc45, kubota 3830-4830?). I started small and ended up with a tc45d and love it, I do a lot of similar
work that you described. There are a lot of good deals on
used tractors also, just make sure you test some before you buy. I have had great luck with all of my compacts.

You better try that 4100 with a 60" rear finish mower, I think I would go with a little bigger tractor. I had slightly rolling land and I did not like mowing with my 20 or 24 h.p. tractors with 60" rear finish mower, but it was great with my 955(33h.p.).Then I did the smartest thing of all I quit trying to mow with a compact and started mowing with a commercial riding mower. I can mow circles around a tractor doing the whole job in 1/3 of the amount of time. Most areas have tons of used com. mowers for sale not that expensive either. I have a friend that spent a little less on a tractor/loader and spent the difference on a com. mower and has the best of both worlds. If you do go the rear finish mower route make sure you try it out first.

I have my tractor insured through citizens and I have it "scheduled" for a given price and that includes trailering and off property use as long as it is not used for a business. It is $50.00 a year.

Sounds like quite a salesman, I have heard that before many times about trading in the other brand.

As far as the New Holland sales rep. that is pathetic he should not have the job.

I have used a plow and disk and plow and tiller and just a tiller with j.d.'s 855/955 no problem with any of it, some just takes longer than others depending on soil. So I would think you should not have a problem with the 790. I have to say for food plots I like the tiller best. It just seems to be a lot better seed prep.. You do have to be more carefull with rock and roots and is also more maintenance.

Remember in most cases the only difference between tractor size is time. It just takes a little longer to do certain chores. My friend has a small kubota he does simliar work than me but it just takes him longer. As long as your not trying to do full size equipment work with a compact you would probably be fine with any of them. I do have to say I would go with the biggest tractor you could possibly fit on your property. If you are going to have to mow around a lot of trees I would get a commercial mower and mow circles around any tractor could even think of mowing. Then you wouldn't have to maybe worry about the size as much.

I would look at 30 pto h.p in a 3000# tractor minimum. It takes a lot of weight and power to properly run a 6' box blade. Sure you can pull it with less but not very effectively. In one of the other threads the guy said he ran out of traction before power, but his tractor was too light. As far as the bush hog, the height and density would be key as far as if you mow it all the time you would be okay. But if you don't you will have a hard time with a smaller size tractor.

L35's are built quite heavy specifically for b.h. work. They have a lot of extra frame and reinforcing. Make sure all of thr 3 point hitch stuff comes with the tractor. I have used the smaller version of that tractor (L21?) to dig out some stumps and it wasn't too bad to dig out 12-14 inch stumps depending on the soil. It might be a little time consuming but if you are not in a hurry it would probably be a great tractor. With all of the extra beef I don't see how you can go wrong, depending on the price of course.

I agree with pacesetter that you should wait a few hours before switching to synthetic engine oil. My friend was told to wait 150 hours for good break in before he switched.

Go with the 5' bucket. It will be all around a better fit for the tractor. Just because you have the wider bucket doesn't mean you have to fill it to the max with all materials. If you are doing lighter materials you will have more capacity. But remember the longer it takes you the more fun you have.

15000 to 16500 would be a good deal in MICHIGAN with the hours. Around here they are about 17-18k plus a little more for hydro and little more for s. steer. That would be one in nice shape.

Most dealers have ati stuff but there are a lot of brands that do the change to quick attach. Make sure you get the quick attach plate and get the skid steer bucket. They might try to sell you the weld on plate that welds to your bucket don't do that. It makes the bucket stick out farther for less lifting capacity. Mine for 16la was 300 bucks for the plate and swapped even for new 72" h.d. skid steer bucket and it works excellent/forks on in a minute.

They say to get a winch 1 1/2 times the weight of the vehicle you are trying to get loaded or unstuck in most 4x4 applications. I should have answered the original ?. Make sure your charging system is up to the task as winches draw a lot of juice.
