Do any of you JD dealers or anyone else sell a specific type of lights that would go on my roll bar for my JD 4400,that could illuminate the area behind my tractor, for working after dark? Also does any one have a idea and price on a good canopy? ThanksHillbilly

Auxiliary lights are fairly generic, and most dealers stock them. I'm not aware of any that are specific to a particular tractor, but who knows. Common sizes are 35W and 55W. Most come in flood, trapezoidal and spot patterns. I have an independently switched 55W flood for a rear work light, which is fairly common. I also have a 55w flood forward, since the headlights on my tractor, as well as many tractors, are pretty well worthless when a loader is mounted. Many tractors have a 10A aux outlet to provide for accessories. A 55W light draws about 4.5A, and cab be easily hooked onto an aux outlet. Check the archives here for how-to discussions. There's more than you'd ever want to know about mounting aux lights in the archives. ....

I bought a rear work light from JD for my 4300. Model #BM19291 cost about $40. Any light could be mounted there but you might have to drill holes for it. This one mounts on the inside of ROPS from the regular running lights using the same bolt holes and bolts and, if wired correctly, runs off the regular light switch. There is also a predrilled hole to run the wire down inside the ROPS so it isn't in the way. It may actually provide more light than the headlights. It took about 10 minutes to hook it up. ....

Hillbilly, I forgot the second part of your post. I also bought a canopy from a company called Bucktop, phone number (800)726-8677. It is fiber glass and painted JD green to match the tractor. I paid about $375 or so for it. I have no idea what metal tops run but seems like I have seen posts where they are cheaper. ....

Hillbilly, you're probably in the wrong part of the country to get a canopy in the same place as I got mine, but a year ago August when I bought my B2710, the plastic (poly, composite, or whatever) genuine Kubota canopy was $395. Instead my dealer put on an insulated steel canopy painted to match the tractor for $295. It was made by Wells Ag Company, Elm Mott, TX, and I had a choice of this canopy (which is perfect as far as I'm concerned) or the same thing in unpainted diamond plate aluminum for the same price. ....

I have two cigarette lighter adapters wired to my aux light then have lights with heavy duty magnets that stick to my rollbar. This comes in handy when using the loader at night for better lighting ahead and to turn around when working the 3pt. I also use the cig lighter for a bright flasher. what I like about it is the flexibility. I got the lights from northern hydralics which i admit were not that great. I have since used the magnets to attach to a better light called a Blaster. much better. hope this helps. ....
