My new Kubota 2100 HSD with loader whines quite loudly when accelerating in high range (forward or back). Once moving, it gets quiet again. Is this normal? If not, is it something that will "wear in" (I have only 6 hrs on the engine? This is the first tractor I've owned, so I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Funny, but I was wondering the same thing about the TC29D I just bought. Must be normal for two different makes to sound the same way. ....

A certain amount of whine is normal, but I would urge that on a new tractor you ease up to speed and not mash the pedal. Get you break in hours over then you can start mashing the pedal bacause the parts will have worn together properly. You will find that the more the transmision is loaded/stressed the louder the whine. ....

Yup. My TC25D does the same thing. Mostly in high gear, but sometimes in the others. I know you're not supposed to work them hard till they're broke in, but it's so hard to resist. Everything is so much easier then with the 9N, or my neighbors Massey. ....
