Hello,
I just came across a Yanmar ym155d 4wd tractor w/3pt mower.
The tractor has 804 hours and has been well maintained. The 3 pt mower is 1 year old. Asking $3400 for the pair. Is this a fair price? Also, what type of problems should I be looking for on a Yanmar tractor? This is my first experience with one, so any info is much appreciated.
Thank You!

Jones - thanks for the input...
I did end up purchasing the tractor. There are a couple of things that need to be addressed mechanically...slow leak in rear tire, etc. Other than, the tractor seems very tight and runs well. I will be using it to blade snow...so now I have to find a small 3pt blade.
Happy Holidays! ....

Everything I've heard says Yanmars are good tractors and I haven't heard of any characteristic problem. Yanmar does have a small dealer network in N.A. so support is available. However, there are gray Yanmars and N/A. Yanmars and I think dealers can't work on or supply parts for the grays. It might be good to figure out if the tractor is a gray or not. A dealer probably can identify a N.A. tractor from the part number. If it's a gray, getting a repair manual so an independent can work on it and finding parts sources also might be good.
If you don't have an owner's manual there may be several mystery controls. Many Yanmars have a compression release and a creeper gear--neither of which are very common in NA. It may have a pre-heat system that uses small amounts of fuel. A small plastic jug in the engine compartment would supply the system. ....
