Can someone tell me how to identify a non-grey-market Yanmar tractor. I may be interested in purchasing one. I'm not sure I would be comfortable purchasing a grey-market one.

Some of the earlier grey Yanmars had 3 digit model #s. Grey markets have air cleaners. Some models of non-greys have air cleaners that aren't under the hood. Some have precleaners. Most greys are under the hood without precleaners. I've had good success getting parts for greys. The greys I've dealt with are of better quality than the US models I've come across. Greys? US? there are good & bad ones of both. You have to inspect what you're buying. ....

Len, thanks for the clarification. I have never seen a Yanmar grey with a 3 digit model #. Are they small ones or just older. Didn't mean to imply that greys didn't have air cleaners just often different style. ....
