i'm looking for my first tractor and i'm looking at a ym2210 it has power shift.is this a good feature to have or should i stick with a std.trans.thank ray

The power-shift is a very reliable transmission, and nice to operate.
The 2210 is a rare example of a 2-cylinder power-shift. All Yanmar power-shifts are 3 or 4 cylinder except for the YM1110 and YM2210. ....
