Yanmar 2500 vs JD 790

How does the Yanmar compare performance wise. I like the JD for $9800 new. But I can get a Yanmar 2500 for $5200 (with 1500 hrs). Does anyone have anyexperience or comments about either.Thanks,James

the 2500 uses the exact same parts as a older jd 850. I just rebuilt mineusing all new jd parts for 600. mine performs like a new tractor I pull a 6 foot finish mower and a 5 foot tiller with no problems ....

Is your 2500 a red model of what year? I have my eye on a green 2500. While the same JD 850 parts fit? ....
