Kenneth, would you please tell us a little more about this problem? What do you mean when you say "4wd comes loose when used with loader, other defects noted" ? I have a 4700 and would like to know of any problems anyone else is having with a 45,46 or 4700. I think I have all the latest updates of all the problems JD has been having with the 4000 series, but one never knows for shore until something happens. David ....

John Deere attached 4 wheel drive to the with 16, 12mm attached to the
engineblock. No additional support or frame was built to support the load or
torque when the 4 Wheel is engaged. If I can't use the 4 wheel for
additional traction with out the breaking loose, why have it. I have only
used the tractor to spread dirt. No ripping or tearing up concrete has been
done. If I used it for that, it would come apart .Check your tractors ....

Kenneth, it looks like either your web browser (or mine)is dropping some of the words in your messages.....making it difficult to figure out what it is that you are trying to explain. You might want to try it again. ....

There is no frame work to attach the 4 drive to.The only attachment is the 16, 12 mm bolts to the engine block. 40 years ago John Deere tried this. The tractors pulled apart. Also the front end loader is mounted on bracket between
the rear engine block and the rear end with no additional support. The front loader when loaded cause them to sag, eventually you will pull them apart.
