I believe they are refering to the loader control all being in one "Joystick" rather than in seperate controls for UP, Down, and Curl, Dump. ....

I think when someone refers to a 4-in-1, he's talking about the bucket, rather than the whole loader. They're also sometimes (perhaps erroneously) called a "clam shell". In other words, it's not a solid bucket, but one on which you can open the back end, use it as a bucket, or a blade, or to clamp onto something like logs. ....
