I need to find a replacement for the original JD bucket. It was too light and cracked in several places. Any recommendations on a replacement?

I've had a two or three buckets rebuilt at a weld shop in the past. Unless yours is really in bad shape they can normaly be rebuilt and beefed up for a lot less than a new bucket. I learned the hard way too, never buy the Deere standard weight bucket, usually for about a hundred dollars more the heavy duty version can be had and they are a lot stronger. Have a great day.
