Can not get cutch to disengage, tried to run tractor up steep hills to no avail. how do I get the clutch apart?

I believe you pop the cover off the pulley and then can get at the clutch inside. You might be able to adjust the linkage to get it to pop out, as it sounds like it snapped in but won't release when you pull back on the clutch lever. Its been awhile, but seems it wasn't too difficult to solve the problem you are having. ....

When you take the cover off the belt pulley, you can back each of the castle nuts off one notch. That should be enough to allow operation of the clutch. Main thing is to keep the adjustment the same for all of the castle nuts and keep cotter pins in them. ....
