Ford 2000 Tractor Rebuild Block Crack

Hi I am new here and looking for some assistance.

I recently rebuilt a Ford 2000 that I bought at auction. Now that I have put so much time into it I have found the the block has a hairline crack, just below the exhaust manifold about six inches long and seeps anti-freeze when the engine runs after it warms up and the pressure builds. I have been looking at block sealers online and other coatings.

Am I just fooling myself, have you done this and it worked? What products did you use?

Thanks for any comments!

Not sure where you are located, if it helps i have a gas engine less carb. From a 2600. It ran good just smoked and had a valvetrain noise.

Ford 2000 Tractor Rebuild Block Crack

I would try to find a good used engine block, all-state ag -parts are good and I have had dealing with them a long time there number is 877-530-4430 they will put a warranty on any use, rebuilt or new part of one year. And use all of the new parts in the bas engine

I was looking at Lock N Stitch. But I guess if that fails I could not do what Ironmanal suggests.

Ironman how long a crack did you have and how bad?

a totally shade tree repair is blue cheese silicone you will run with rad. cap loose at all times once done
clean block of rust, anti freeze seepage, and loose paint, with wire brush and the flammable brand brake clean and
then lay a heavy bead of the red hi heat silicone along crack past each end an inch or so, wet your fingers and smear & smooth down I ran a chevy 235 ci. iron block for 10 plus years that way with no problem
I have used the liquid glass for cracked heads from old school mechanics that taught me 40 years ago worked then works now flow instr. on container for this repair

mine was about 3 inches long clean real good after grinding use break cleaner to get rid of all oils an water. if it doesn't work for you, you can always grind it out and try something else

also there is the powdered rad. stop leak I have used on leaking freeze plugs, with it you must keep cooling sys. full and run with or with out rad. cap on tight mind you I am a mix of shade tree repair & old school I was taught 40 years ago when I was a teenager ( retired 40 yrs. diesel mechanic)
