I have a Internation 434 desiel that is producing more black smoke that it used to. I don't really work it that hard but now under any load is seems to create more black smoke than usual
I assume it is because not all of the deseil is burning but unsure where to start?

Try a good diesel injector cleaner. Also make sure that the engine is running up to temp! ....

What is the condition of the air cleaner? Many times excessive black smoke is from lack of air.
As Art said injector cleaner and find some place to work the engine real hard. ....
