RE: kohler 25 hp stalls when engaging pto only when cold.
Thank you for the advice. I tried the wait for warmup of the engine, it helped.
I stopped at a parts supplier to buy an oil filter and asked the older gent if he had any ideas about my problem.
He stated that the new engines run lean on purpose for emmission reasons. and to pull the choke out about 1/2 inch when engaging the deck when the machine is cold.
Stated it would richen the mixture and i would be surprised.
I tied it today with the engine stone cold The pto deck starts instantly without any hesitation or bogging.
I didnt pull the choke out far enough to even hear any engine change just about 1/2 inch of the 2 inch travel.
