I have a 19hp deisel tractor with geardrive and single stage clutch, how difficult is it blowing, does the shute clog when you push in the clutch? I want to buy a 51" blower any advice? Thx Gary

Gary the chute will clog unless you get real good with them. Ie; leaving room to raise and get out of the snow before dumping the clutch. ....

As Art says, they sure will clog if the auger stops before it clears. Lifting the blower out of the snow may be the only thing that works. I have heard of some sort of graphite spray that is supposed to reduce snow sticking to metal. Maybe it would help keep the chute from clogging. ....

Gary, I snow blow with a rear mounted 60" Lucknow on a gear 1910 Ford. Going slow enough is the problem- a hydrostatic transmission would be ideal. A creeper range would be second best. As it is, I have to sometimes slip the clutch or take less than a full bite. The uneveness of the snow depth from drifting would be perfect for a hydrostatic. The Ford 1910 has a 2- stage clutch and that helps to prevent clogging/shearing pins somewhat. ....
