 1710 loader with cab

I have a 1986 1710 with a cab and no loader. Will a loader fit on this tractor with the cab or will the cab be in the way? I can't find any pictures on the net or know of anyone that has a small tractor with a cab and a loader. The loader that I'm looking at is a Ford 771. Dealer says the 771 came off a Ford 1720. Will the 771 fit on my 1710 without modifications?
Thanks
Ken

 1710 loader with cab

I have a used one in inventory that came in with factory loader, snowblower and cab. Mind you the cab is a factory built cab, but it is not like the ones they build now. The older tractors were not built the same as the new ones and they normally are open on the bottom unless someone spent 3000 dollars for one in 1986. I believe it is an Original by brand name and they are a very univesal cab and yes they would take a heater for what it is worth.

 1710 loader with cab

Thanks for the reply Art - My real concern is fitting a loader onto a 1710 that has a cab. It appears that the cab uses the same mounting positions that the loader would use so I'm curious if they share those positions or does it take a special loader mount to work with a cab? Also where do they mount the loader controls in the cab? I think my cab is a factory job since it was owned by the Ford motor Co. as a grounds keeping unit. Any chance that I could get a picture of your cab/loader unit so I can see how it fits together?

 1710 loader with cab

I'm not sure if I'm going to do you any good. The link below goes to a pic of 1710 cab mounts from my parts manual. However, it is for a cab sold for 1710 marketed in Europe. The manual has no drawings for NA cabs. The NH-E cab does have floor plates. I'll remove the pic in a few days.

I suppose it's possible that a tractor used by Ford in NA might have the European cab on it so it would be good to identify the particular cab. A NH dealer should be able to say if a 771 loader fits both tractors and if the mounts are the same. If it's the European cab, a dealer should be able to say if the 771 loader was used on European 1710's. Could take a bit of research by a parts guy though. As I say, I'm not sure how much help this is.

 1710 loader with cab

Excellent pics Tom - It looks like the cab uses the same mounts as the loader I'm looking at. I suppose the only way I'm going to solve this is to load up the 1710 again and take it to the loader dealer (80 miles away) and set it next to the loader and look at the mounting.
I think I mentioned before none of my lights work and I saw an earlier post of yours that it might be a fuse. The wiring seems to be easy to get at so I would like to go over the whole wiring system and bring it up to speed. Any chance I can get a copy of the 1710 wiring diagram from you?

 1710 loader with cab

I can't help with your technical questions, but I can assure you that a loader will work with a cab. My 1710 has a 770 loader along with an enclosed cab and heater.

 1710 loader with cab

Thats what I wanted to hear, that there is room for a loader and cab both. Just curious...where are your loader controls located? You wouldn't happen to have a digital camera that you could take a picture? I would like to see the front of the cab and the back mounting post of the loader. Either way...thanks

 1710 loader with cab

Many loader and cab mounts are together. The rear moundt on the 1710 cab on ours just sit on the fender. The fronts go down to the frame mounts. It is a soft side like the old curtis that it is and it uses a zipper door on the lft and a snap it on the right. All the older cabs were tight and the heater is mounted back by the drivers right hand fender. the valves have room in there normal position. The tractor is at one of our other stores and to say the least incoinveinent to get a picture.

Ken: I've been struggling with computer upgrades that prevented my from responding to posts.

I'll try to help if you still have lighting problems.
