hi;
I am a first time tractor owner. New Holland 1710 4WD. I can't seem to engage the 4WD. I have moved the lever all the way forward and back, but the front wheels wont engage. Can someone please tell me the exact procedure to engage? Neutral? clutch in? etc...
Thanks very much,
Mike

Generally on most makes with hydrostatic transmission you need to push the clutch in to put it in 4WD. Also your wheels should be facing straight ahead not turning.

While I have found on Kubota's you can skip pushing in the lutch on hydros while driving straight ahead and just slide it into 4WD while moving forward.

Sometimes you need to move forward a little in 2WD to get things aligned if the lever is reluctant I have found. ....

It didn't work...4WD would not engage...
I also caught a typo I had...It is a new Holland 1715, not a 1710...But I don't think that makes a difference.
