 TC33 vs TC35

I will be ordering a tractor in January and cannot decide between the tc33 or tc35. Is it worth the little bit more for the shuttle transmission and bigger tractor. Some people say the engine is not big enough for the frame. Does anyone have any input on this? Thanks in advance!

I am not familiar with the TC tractors, but the shuttle transmission is great. It is almost necessary if you plan on ever using a FEL on the tractor.

I have the TC 33D with the three range hydro and I love it. It hasn't given me one minutes problem in 780 hrs. It it a great landscape tool with the 7308 loader attached. I would have to agree that the 35 is a bit small in the larger frame. I would move up to the 40 class if I were getting the larger framed unit. Just my 2cents.

I went through the same thing about 18 months ago. I ended up with the TC40D. Very satisfied. Have you ever tried york raking or bush hogging up and down a hill? The Hydro makes it no effort to stop. You owe it to yourself to try the Hydro before you lay out the cash.

In my opinion, it depends on the intended use of the tractor. If you're doing mostly finish mowing or landscaping on smaller lots, the 33 is about as big as you'd want. But if you're doing a lot of ground engaging with backhoe, FEL, plowing or tilling or other rough work, I'd get the biggest, baddest thing that I could afford. If my barn was big enough!
My TC29 usually spins out before it powers out (with R4 tires, not loaded). I finish mow and work in the woods a lot, it is a nice size for that.
Good luck,
Bill

I guess having tested the 33/35/40 units I can provide my thoughts as to using them with MMM. Upfront, I ended up with a 33 with SS, MMM, FEL and other attachments. The 40 is GREAT.. just too big for yard work in my situation. The 35 was also on the same frame as the 40 with one difference... it didn't seem to have much power to pull itself up slops with the mmm running... My thought was it was just a 33 engine in a larger frame. The 33 had more power .. or appeared to have more as it was in a smaller chasis which allowed it to move about better.

If I could of used a larger unit it would of been the 40.. I would of even moved to the 45 if a mmm was available and my landscape could of handled the larger chasis...

BeeFarmer, I couldn't agree more with every word you said. I have a ZTR mower for the lawn around the house, so I went for the 40 for exactly the reasons you said.(I also went for the SS and love it.)
