I'm loooking at buying a used, 555 hour MF tractor. I'm very new and know nothing about tractors. I do know about automobiles so I'm not completely illiterate (except for spelling) Anyway, this tractor has a Great Bend Front loader, bush hog and a box blade. The serial # is 5691C 13003.

If anyone can give me some info I would greatly appreciate it. The seller is asking $9900 for all.

Perkins diesel, 3 cylinders, 152 cu. in., 8 forward, 2 reverse (4 speed with hi-lo) 34 hp, weighs about 4065 pounds; manufactured from 1989-1999; value for a 1996 (I guessed at the year) is $7500-$8700. Add $2500-$3000 for the implements.
Also listed is a 231S, made in 2000-2001, 42 hp; value $10700-$11800. With such low hours, it could be this later model. I don't have my book to look up the serial number to find out what year it is and to verify the model.

It is a Poland made old 231. 231S is better. Actually there is a new one on the way 431. Saw that in the fair. If you will pay $10.000 for an old 231, i advise you to pay approximately $13.000 for the new 431. Hydrostatic steering, pendant pedal, and StageII Perkins 1103 series engine on it. Cause of the new engine, must be a modified crownwheel and pinion. Also there is another new model 461 but it is a 4WD one. ....
