Kubota offers draft control as an option on the grand Ls. Is this a useful feature and when would one employ this in tractor work?

For the most part it would never be used. Many farmers don't even use it as if it is not sensitive enough it will never moniter the load changes from the load to raise the hitch to reduce the depth. It could be used tilling, but not normally as most people want to till as deep as possible. ....

Your 1194 should have it. Do you have a back blade for it? Drop the blade to the lowest level and lower the draft to light and you can get the blade so it will only lightly scuff the driveway as it is light draft. To put full weight of the blade move the lever the other way to heavy. ....
