Using a B1550HST I would like to buy a Kingkutter rotary cutter and I don't know if I should buy the 4' model at 420 lbs., or the 5' model at 521 lbs. I have flat land and a large hill. It seems to me that the 5' model would be too much weight. Any comments? Joe

Weight only becomes a problem when the implement is fully suspended by the 3ph. When the implement is supported by it's own wheels, the tractor can handle the load. For reference, my B6200 can handle around 400lbs. unsupported weight off the 3ph. I assume your machine will handle a little more. This info is readily available in your owners manual. I say use the smaller unit.

If you look around a bit, you can find a unit with a reversable top link bracket. This reversable bracket allows one to either lift the implement completely, bearing all the weight on the 3pt lift assembly, or, merely lift the nose of the implement so as to lift minimal weight if any and keep a weight distribution on the swivel wheel assembly on the tail of the implement. Pretty slick...I use one on my 5' bush hog with my B5200's.
