I am in the market for my first tractor. I am going to look at at a B7100 I saw in the paper. The owner states that is a 25 horspower. I have seen this model listed on various webpages as 16,18,21 and 25 horspower. What gives?
Are there different HP's for different year models?
Thanks

Interesting question...however the fact is that since the inception of the B7100 series, both the older vintage, dating back to 1976, and the "reborn" vintage whose last production run date was 1999, the engine size,(HP), remained the same at 16HP, 13 at pto. I would be curious to find out what tractor model is being referenced with varying engine sizes.

Willie's right, I've had people try to sell me on the idea before that just because their tractor was 100 horsepower on the dyno that it is not a 85 horsepower tractor anymore but I should give them a bigger allowance on trade in? If a model does have more horsepower than the factory says than to me if no one has played with the pump than it's just a good engine. Not a special model! ....
