I am in the market for a compact utility that will handle approx. 8 acres of land mainly for mowing. About an acre of this total acerage is woods (which has been cleaned of all underbrush and is able to be mowed) the rest is open with scattered trees. So, I essentially mow my whole place like a yard. I will also need implements such as a rear blade & landscape rake. What's the best to do this?

I'll stay away from colour considerations. I think all major names and a few not so major make good machines.

The fitting of a tractor to the work it has to do is very much a matter of deciding how much time is going to be allowed for the work. Big tractors use wider implements and take require fewer passes for a job. Smaller tractors leave less trimming and take less time for maneuvering to get some jobs done faster than a bigger tractor.

There are other considerations. Somebody who want's high quality finish mowing probably wants a small light tractor with turf tires and a mid-mower. A person less concerned about finish mowing might prefer a bigger tractor that can use wider implements and has the weight to generate more traction for ground engaging work like grading.

There are some discussions in the archives that talk about making time estimates for mowing.
