Does anyone know what the limit is for width and weight for a 3pt snowblower for a BX 2200. Looking at a 60 inch at about 450-500 lbs. If you have one, what type is it and are you happy with it, and what did it cost?

Thanks

Tom from NJ

I use a 5' Meteor, which was around $1500 CAN with hydraulic chute rotation a few yers ago. The Meteor is a basic moderate priced blower. More pricey blowers have more features and may be more rugged. The Meteor has worked just fine for me.

I run the blower with 24 PTO HP, and I do have to use fairly slow ground speeds in moderately heavy snows. Slower ground speeds usually cope for a blower that's slightly under powered, but I'd check recommended HP ranges. Some of the more pricey blowers have larger and higher rpm fans that take more HP.

In general, implements that just cover the rear tire tracks are about right for a tractor. I don't know how wide the BX tracks, but it might tolerate a narrower blower if it's PTO HP is a bit low. My tuft tires track a couple of inches wider than the blower, but that hasn't created any problems. A wider blower likely would be under powered by my tractor, and I'd still have to make three passes to clear the drive even with a wider blower.
